Beginning Monday, December 8, our school will begin using SafeArrival to report student absences. SafeArrival is designed to make it easier, faster, and more convenient for families to report absences and late arrivals.
With SafeArrival, there’s no need to call the school and leave a message. Instead, you can quickly and securely report your child’s absence in one of three ways:
Using the SM Home App: Download and install the SM Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Online: Visit home.schoolmessenger.ca.
Phone: Call the toll-free number 1-844-478-2598 and follow the prompts
Further detailed instructions are available on the OCSB website.
St. Gemma Catholic School is honoured to support the Terry Fox Run! We are proud of the amazing tradition at our school and are thrilled to announce that, to date, we have raised $22,407.03 for cancer research. This year marks the 45th Anniversary of the Marathon of Hope! Our goal for this year’s run is to raise funds for cancer research while starting the school year with a great event that celebrates our school spirit and our students.
Thanks to thousands of schools like ours, the Terry Fox Foundation funds a variety of different cancer research projects such as lung, breast, ovarian, pediatric, prostate, brain and blood.
This year, St. Gemma is going to join the ‘Finish It Challenge’! If we reach our goal of raising $2,000, all students will receive an extra 15 minutes of recess on a nice autumn day! All fundraising will be done online. It is quick and easy, and donors receive a receipt immediately.
